Our Humble Beginnings And The Route Home:

DixiePins.com is the product of a small company founded in 1956 by Henry and Emma Strippelhoff. The company, known as Dixie Industrial Supply, Inc., was originally a division of Carbide Products, Inc., founded in 1943. Dixie originally operated out of a third floor office in downtown Georgetown, KY at the Carbide Products, Inc. factory. Mr. Carl H. Strippelhoff (Skip), son of the founders, was attending Georgetown College at the time. In his spare time and between classes he answered the telephones and handled customer service and inside sales.

Dixie expanded in the years that followed, attracting top industrial product lines and loyal customers. With this expansion and with Skip at the helm, Dixie added an inside and outside sales force and moved to Lexington, KY. Ever expanding, Dixie built its first dedicated facility in 1969, a 10,000 plus square foot facility in a prime Lexington industrial park.

Based on an industry need for specialty hardened and ground pins, the Dixie Pin was born. The product line has expanded to include all the items now available on this web site. Our policy is the one thing that has remained constant throughout the years:

"The customer is always right. We respect and appreciate that our success is solely dependent upon the customer's complete satisfaction."

Dixie came home in the fall of 2007. After more than 50 years, Dixie Industrial Supply, Inc. closed its doors due to the illness of Skip Strippelhoff, President/CEO. But the Dixie Pin lives on and has returned to Georgetown. Upon the closing of Dixie Industrial Supply, Inc., Skip sold the Dixie Pin product line back to Carbide Products, Inc., where it all began. Carbide Products, Inc. (CPI), founded in 1943, is owned and managed by Carl D. Strippelhoff (Danny) and Paul H. Strippelhoff, two of Skip's sons. CPI is one of the finest high-precision machine job shops in Kentucky. As a loyal customer and vendor to Dixie, the opportunity was obvious and welcome.

We continue with the same dedication to customer service started by Skip so many years ago, and we welcome the opportunity to serve you, our valued customers.
